An infinite research program can produce another compelling idea forever. The decisive move comes when its author preserves everything worth carrying forward, defines the conditions for returning, and directs that intellectual energy into a machine that can answer back.

Take a different chance
Prestigious outcomes can create paired traps: win one sanctioned contest or interpret another result as defeat. A more productive choice changes the goal.
Pursue the work that invites real invention. Accept the possibility of defeat. Keep another route alive. Build something whose progress does not depend on one employer, one audience, or one theory receiving an official verdict.

That instrument may begin slowly. Its first interface may contain only keyboard and display. Its first result may reveal a failure trace. Each outcome brings the work into a world where ideas can operate, encounter consequences, and improve.
