What Should Be Public
Security information and technical education are different categories. Some operational details should remain protected. But the engineering knowledge required to build, test, repair, and improve useful technology should not be trapped behind needless secrecy.
When a society cannot teach or reproduce important technical processes, the dependency becomes structural. Semiconductor manufacturing is the hard example: design knowledge, process knowledge, equipment, materials, and metrology all affect whether a community can build trusted active devices.
Concentration Is a Technical Risk
Chip manufacturing concentration is not only an economic issue. It affects supply resilience, education, trust, iteration speed, and who can verify what was built.
Open-source businesses show that public technical work and commercial value can coexist. The useful boundary is not "everything secret" or "everything leaked." The useful boundary is public enough for learning, reproduction, and improvement while still protecting legitimate operational security.
