Replacing gasoline and natural gas requires an energy system, not a single favorite technology. Match Each Source to the Job

Hydrogen can carry energy into vehicles and industrial equipment. Efficient turbines and fuel cells can turn that fuel into continuous power. Geothermal systems can deliver steady local heat, while thorium molten-salt and fusion systems pursue dense generation.

Solar gains a strategic role when it makes transportable fuel. Large ocean-based generation near Hawaii could split water, compress or liquefy hydrogen, and ship energy to the machines that need it.

Build Production and Distribution Together

Generation alone cannot replace gasoline. The full product needs water processing, storage, compression or liquefaction, transport, dispensing, conversion hardware, maintenance, and competitive lifecycle cost.

Energy companies, island infrastructure partners, turbine builders, fuel-cell teams, and investors can assemble that chain. Solve production and distribution together, and the market can move.

Hydrogen: yes. Super-efficient gas turbine or hydrogen fuel cell: yes Solar: I'm not sure (okay to make compressed hydrogen to replace gasoline, any other purpose is to expensive). Geothermal: yes. Nuclear Thorium molten salt: yes! Fusion: please, do it if you can! <3 That's our energy dreams "economy". I you can scale it and save the planet, awesome. Otherwise it's the end, because gasoline in cars and natural gas for heating are IRREPLACEABLE from the economic point of view with modern technologies and STRATEGIES, even theoretically. Do you have a good idea how to produce H2 splitting water splitting Thorium or taking the heat from deep underground of Earth? Or do you know how to make fusion scale in the next 5 years. If not, we're screwed. A giant solar farm around Hawaii in the ocean making compressed or liquid H2 is the best business you can have if you solve the distribution problem. I'm moving there soon. To start selling your H2 turbines, fuel cells, and the hydrogen. More south, cheaper the solar. MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper.
